Install a Cold Air Intake
An aftermarket parts, the Cold Air Intake (CAI) allows you to pull air and mix it with fuel. The intake will pull in air, lower its temperature then condense it. Once condensed, it will reach the cylinder. Condensed air can carry more oxygen. More air to the cylinder means more power and having it in condensed form allows better combustion, adding more horsepower and torque. 

Add a Performance Chipset
Chips alter the factory setting of the onboard computer of the car. It will allow you to use your gas efficiently, extending your engine and car’s life. But most importantly, it allows you to adjust fuel-air mixture ratios, timing, and anti-lock brakes. 

Adjusting the fuel-air mixture ratios or gas combustion will yield a higher torque and horsepower. Timing and anti-lock brakes will ensure you have better handling to your car. Installation is fairly easy making this method one of the easy ways to have additional engine power.

Reduce the Weight
Physics will tell us that a lighter object will move faster than a heavier one. Try to reduce the weight of your vehicle. You won’t have to delve with the car’s engine, but rather its accessories and other functions. The idea is to remove unnecessary items and replace important ones with lighter materials. 

You can remove additional chairs and replace your windshields and windows with acrylic instead of glass. If you really are serious in adding more power to your car, remove the air conditioning compressor, stereo, and replace your battery with a smaller race battery.

Get a Forced Induction System
An induction system brings in air from the outside, mixes it with fuel, and delivers the fuel/air mixture to the cylinder where combustion occurs. The best two examples would be the supercharger and turbocharger. Regardless of choosing the former or the latter, it is still guaranteed to increase your horsepower due to the additional source of power.

Replace your Air Filter
Your car has its own air filter. But to increase its performance, replace it with a cone type air filter. It will allow more air to be taken into the engine, and as explained with the cold air intake unit, more air means additional power. This will also help your fuel economy due to the additional air efficiently burning your fuel.
